It had been a long time since Ozmar had to look in the mirror to take stock in himself. THis was one of those times where a man no matter how old begins to wonder what he is worth. It seemed like ages since he'd seen a youth look back from the mirror. The ages merged together since his death. Even when the rotted flesh peeled from his bones leaving nothing but skeletal remains he was able to see himself. No the story was different.

As he stood there filing through the memories in his head, he remembered days of his youth where he and his love would wander the lands hand in hand helping those in need. He remembered his life was hers. Then he remembered the day that he realized true evil. It was the day they took his wife from him. The sorrow that filled him eventually corrupted his heart. With this corruption came the infusion of dark magic. With his newly found strength he set out to stand against those who held him down for so long. It was with the Infernal Order that he found a common brotherhood. Through time he pledged his power and soul to the brood.

Looking away from the mirror he realized that whether or not he wore the badge, he was at heart loyal to his lord and master. Even though his only remains were that of a robed skeleton his power proved to be great. Only outlived by a handful of mortals, his power remained strong. His determination and knowledge of the arcane made him a formiddable opponent.

And with this realization came the pledge to himself, that he would study more and learn how to modify his current arsenal of spells to suit his needs. Thus Ozmar was reborn once again.

Ozmar awoke to an electrical feeling running throughout his entire being. Something had changed in his time away. Not sure of what it was he wandered forth, returning to the clan hall that was the home of his brothers. He wandered over to the postings that served to announce the latest information, news, personal notes, and other important information. After he was done reading the board he realized what the feeling was. He had lost a couple of brothers, one of which had joined the ranks of Den. Not knowing how or why this had happened Ozmar was outraged. He ventured back to his clan hall and started gathering his hoarded platinum that he had kept hidden in secret caches that was left from his time leading the Pirates. Ozmar had finished gathering the platinum that he felt was needed. He would wait for Duragon to return before he attempted anything else. For once in his life, it was him that needed counsel from the leaders and not the other way around. This was another feeling that Ozmar was not used to. When Ozmar went to sleep he immediately found himself floating around in the memories of his own head.

Ozmar looked around from the ruined tower of the City of Thalos. Long had it been since he led the pirates...

Ozmar looked around from the ruined tower of the City of Thalos. Long had it been since he led the pirates. He remembered victories, strategies, and other memories of times since passed. How was it that two members of the Circle and one of Den were able to deal him death? His time spent sleeping must have weakened him. That’s the only explanation that he could come up with. He looked at one of the stone golems to his left as rage flared in his eyes. He merely thought of a fireball and the golem exploded into fragments. His minds edge must have lost its edge during his time in his own mind. He spent the rest of his times trying to remember long lost magic. He remembered his own sparring matches with Chame, the greatest master of telekinesis the pirates had ever seen. During many of these matches his thoughts proved to be quicker and his will steadier even though he rarely won the matches. With mere thoughts Ozmar could conjure magic that most wizards would need items and even scrolls to successfully cast.

He proceeded to a vantage point that overlooked the Harem in New Thalos. Many of the women the sultan bedded with came to the ship willingly for the pirates in times long forgotten. Here he decided that he would exercise his will as much as he could. He moved his hands in slight ovals and uttered the activation phrase for the spell ‘charm person’ and gained control of Nichole, the sultan’s favorite girl. He had a little fun forging little sparing matches to see where the bounds of his will would take him. He grew bored after the first few matches so he thought he would attempt something else.

He headed back to his clan hall and sought out the effigy of Navarre that was the sparring dummy. He cast his greatest protection spells along with all of the maledictions that he knew he could afflict upon the dummy. He spent hours bending his will and searching the strands of spell substance that covered the dummy unraveling each spell separately and then rewrapping the spell slightly altered so that it would be harder for him the next time he attempted to remove it. Being unhindered by the lack of equipment allowed him to be free in the motions that he used as well to cast the spells as well as evade all of the attacks that came from the effigy.

Ozmar soon retired to his quarters his mind exhausted and his will feeling drained. Immediately as if by a spell his mind was elsewhere running in the green fields of yester-year killing everything with a simple flex of his will. He was stealing the life from once living creatures left and right. Moments later his mind was aimlessly wandering among the accumulated memories of his own being.

It was late morning when the thought struck Ozmar.
"It would be a good day for some action," he thought to himself. At that thought Ozmar remembered his earlier petition to be readmitted into the brood that was his home before the sleep. He decided that it would be in his best interests to return as soon as was possible. After a little pacing and a few miscellaneous quests to keep him busy he received a response. He was once again where he felt most at home. When he recalled back to the hall he was surprised to see many renovations taking place. He started wandering so that he could get a good feel for the new layout. When he thought he had finally figured it out he turned a corner and ran into a solid wooden door. Startled, the guard set his keys down and turned to look at Ozmar. Ozmar figured that he should return to the healing bay and rest. As soon as he was on the bed he was asleep, exhausted from his wanderings. His thoughts spread out into the many places that were hidden in his mind.

While I was resting at the healing temple, I had a conversation with Armanon of Order of the Tainted Shade. He questioned my desire to join The Infernal Order of D'Sar and attempted to talk me into joining Order of the Tainted Shade instead. I mentioned reawakened dreams of fighting alongside Dew, Drizzt, Kurgan and a few others. The feelings that were stirred by this memory made me feel like I belonged beside them in battle, not against. Armanon said that he was afraid of time that could arise when he would need to flee from me in battle. I told him that I remembered very little of personal battle, but he assured me that it was just like the ancient rites of magic. It would all come back to me with a little practice. An Evil smile slid across my face at that thought.
Later on while resting on the sofa memories of human sacrifices, and a great airship came to mind. The names Blaze, Roxy, and many others flooded into my mind as memories of my repressed youth came back to me. The death of Artemis and of Caryla, My mother and father, came back with them. I had to get out and kill something. I needed to release this rage that was building inside.

I was wandering the realms, my mind flooded with newly released memories...

I was wandering the realms, my mind flooded with newly released memories. I was slowly beginning to realize that I was not the same person now that I was when I was married. Things of old held little meaning to me anymore. People of my younger years now ceased to exist, places that I held sacred were desecrated, and objects I had protected had long since been looted. I was a shadow in a world new to me. I had to seek out old friends and find my place in this new world.

“Why am I awake”, Ozmar asked himself. He had cast a great sleep spell upon himself in the attempt to relieve all the pain. A time before the casting of the spell, he spent his every waking moment searching for an opportunity to avenge his wife’s death...

After looking around he realized that he was no longer in the clan hall where he had started his sleep. Instead, he was lying in the ruins of Kjeldoran Market Square. He had not known how long his spell had lasted. The only thing that he knew was that he was now alone again.
When he finally began to look around he noticed slight changes here and there. He looked down at his own armor and personal effects he realized that the items that he held were no longer as priceless as they were before his sleep. He decided that he would wander and explore the lands to see how much had changed.
The first thing that he noticed was the fact that the faces he saw were not the faces that he remembered. He remembered very few of the faces, and even fewer of the paths that used to take him to familiar grounds. On one of his trips he had taken a wrong turn and ended up in a room with a giant leviathan. He barely managed to escape by using his exit spell. When he had regained the strength that was consumed by casting the spell, he looked around and had no idea where he was. After this little set back he decided that he would ask around and try to start where he left off.
The only thing that he had remembered for sure was memories that were held in the wedding band around his finger. His wife had been a blessing to him. She was a leader of the clan they lead with a few others. She was the only one that could lead him. She had no objections to any of his decisions, and never failed to help him when needed.
He only wished he knew what happened to her.
